Cob Building Workshop!

At the SR Community Market
1899 Mendocino Ave.
Sat & Sun August 28-29
From 9-5 pm
Cost is $50 per day

Learn the valuable skill of building a wood fired oven, and bench using local earth.
Be able to say " I helped build that!"

Saturday, we will be
1) finishing the foundation,
2)insulating and building the floor,
3)building the first layer of the oven,
4) setting adobe dricks for the backs of the benches
5) making models of miniature houses

On Sunday, We will be:
1) Putting the insulation layer of the oven
2) Sculpting the structure into a beautiful form
3) Learning how to do an earthen plaster
4) Having a discussion about Natural Building in general.
5) Watch a film on Natural Building

Workshop is limited to 20 participants.

Learn the art of building your own earthen oven and bench using materials right on site!

Day one- Learn how to build a foundation, insulate the floor,

set adobe bricks, and build an oven.

Day two- Learn how to insulate the oven, do decorative sculpting, plaster and seal.

An overview discussion of natural building and handouts.

Meet some new people, have fun, and learn a new skill.

Cob Oven workshop in Petaluma with Daily Acts

On May 29th & 30 there will be a Cob Oven workshop in Petaluma. We plan to fire up the oven on Sunday so you will experience instant gratification. This is part of the Daily Acts workshop series which has lots of great activities. Cob Oven/Bench Workshop May 15 & 16 Petaluma

If you have heard about the 350 Garden Challenge on May 15 & 16 weekend you know that there is something very exciting happening all around the county. Living Earth Structures will leading a workshop to build a cob oven and bench at the home of Wayne and Connie, owners of Jungle Vibes toy store. The address of the workshop is 280 Skillman Ln. ON Saturday, we will be building the oven and setting adobe bricks for the backs of the bench. On Sunday we will be doing some of the more creative sculpting on the structure.

Dome Building in Petaluma

There is a new Adobe Dome being built in Petaluma, which will be used for meditation. Folks are invited to come just about any day to help build the dome. Just give me a call at 707 320 3609 and I will give you the address.
